Legislatures

        -USàCongress

                -Can only legislate on issues they are given power to

        -MOàGeneral Assembly

                -Some states meet annually; others once every 2 years

        -Supremacy ClauseàUS law trumps state laws

        -City councils, county commissions, boards of education

Agencies

        -Sometimes govt agencies can make rules/regulations

                -OSHA, EPA, TSA

                -Planning and Zoning

-Can make regulations w/o vote, but usually hold public hearings

 

Courts

        -Sometimes court rulings set “precedent”

                -Opinion that can be used in the future to decide case

 

International Lawmaking

        -Treaty

                -Agreement b/w 2 or more nations

        -United Nations
